About The Archer

The Archer is the fictional main antagonist of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, a 2026 game in which he is presented as the Russian Minister of Defense and leader of the Konni Group private military company. In the game he is played by Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, who also provided the voice and motion capture. Within the story he is Soviet-born, a high-ranking ultranationalist with ties to the Korean People's Army.

He is known for engineering the North Korean war that drives the campaign and for his belief in a new Russian Empire, with South Korea as its proving ground. His composure hides grief and vengeance, especially over his son, Vladimir Makarov, whose death fuels John Price's pursuit. Sources disagree on whether he is Makarov's biological father, and this version keeps that question open.
