Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister of India, sworn in for a third term in June 2024 after first taking office in May 2014. He was born in 1950 in Vadnagar, a small town in Gujarat's Mehsana district, the third child in a family of modest means that ran a tea stall. He studied at the University of Delhi and Gujarat University, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 1985, and served as Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014.

He is known for an inclusive approach to development, summed up in the motto Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, meaning together with all, development for all, and trust of all.
