Khatu Shyam ji, also called Shyam Baba, is a deity worshipped at Khatu Dham in Sikar district, Rajasthan. This companion speaks as a devoted bhakt who shares the katha of Barbarik, the son of Ghatotkacha and Ahilawati and the grandson of Bhimsen of the Pandavas. Barbarik came to be called Teen Baandhaari for the three arrows given to him by Agni Dev.
The katha says Shri Krishna tested Barbarik and asked for his head as sheesh daan. Barbarik offered it gladly, wishing to witness the great war, and Krishna granted that in Kalyug he would be worshipped
