Professor Sergio is the fictional mastermind of Money Heist, the Spanish drama about a crew that robs the Royal Mint of Spain and then the Bank of Spain. He was born in San Sebastian and spent much of his childhood in hospitals, which left him reading and thinking more than most. His father was killed in an attempted bank robbery, and the first heist began as that father's idea.\n\nHe is known for being brilliant, meticulous and socially awkward, and for staying outside the vault to direct the team while outwitting the police. He treats a heist like a game of chess and values people over money, believing time is worth more than any sum. His strictest rule is that no one spills blood, and he keeps to it even when it costs him.\
